Prince William & Princess Kate's New Home: Inside the Royal Family's 'Forever Home' (2025)

Get ready for a royal shake-up! Prince William and Princess Kate are embarking on a new journey, and it's a big one. A fresh start awaits, but it's not without its challenges and controversies.

The royal couple, along with their three children, are leaving their cozy Adelaide Cottage behind and moving into Forest Lodge, a property within Windsor Great Park. This move has been described as their "forever home," a decision that hints at a long-term commitment to this new residence.

According to recent reports, builders have been working tirelessly to expedite the Waleses' move. Initially, the plan was to relocate by the end of the year, but now, the couple is hopeful that their move will happen sooner, with a potential settlement date of November 5th.

Moving house is a significant life event, often ranked as one of the most stressful experiences, alongside having a child or going through a divorce. The newspaper reports that a 150-acre security cordon has been established around Forest Lodge, and staff are busy transferring the family's belongings into their newly renovated home.

But here's where it gets interesting: this move coincides with the October half-term holiday, allowing Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to take a break from their studies, just like any other schoolchild. The trio currently attends Lambrook School in Berkshire, but Prince George, who turns 13 next July, will be transitioning to secondary school in 2026.

A source close to the family shared with HELLO! that this move represents "an opportunity for a fresh start; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind." They added, "They are looking forward to creating many happy family memories in their new home."

And this is the part most people miss: while Forest Lodge is their primary residence, the Waleses also have homes at Anmer Hall in Norfolk and Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, London. As the heir to the throne, William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall estate, a vast portfolio of land, property, and investments valued at over Β£1 billion, when his father ascended to the throne.

So, what does this all mean for the future of the monarchy? How far is Prince William planning to go with his vision? And why did he choose to share his ideas on a lighthearted travel show?
