Steven James R She Had EnoughAnd Myself Had EnoughA Good Movie Based On Reality For All Whom Go Through What The Movie Is AboutBeing With An Abusive Partner Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review John C Though some developments and scenes in Enough are blown up to the level of melodrama, and most characters are written more as simple archetypes than real people, I found this film to be a surprisingly enjoyable ride. Until, that is, it came off the rails with an ending that had me rolling my eyes. The film leads you to think our protagonist, played by Jennifer Lopez, is about to assassinate her narcissistic abuser of a husband and stage the assassination as something else to exonerate herself. Which is kind of what happens, except it's via the dumbest plan you can imagine. Instead of using the element of surprise and just popping him off, she confronts him openly. She then risks everything in a FIST FIGHT with this thug twice her size. The story makes clear that with just one good hit from this brute, our protagonist is done for and her kid will grow up without a mother. But as you might imagine, she emerges the victor with barely a scratch, and everyone lives happily ever after. Look, I don't begrudge the positive outcome, but the way the film gets to its happy ending is way too insulting to the audience's intelligence for my liking. Why is the Longlegs movie so scary? ›

Longlegs' refusal to show us the killer in anything more than glimpses until midway through the film's runtime accomplishes a similar yet inverted effect: he's scarier when we can't see him, even though he cuts a pretty singular figure.
